If you are a worrier then this blog is for you!
Yesterday I was worrying. I was just in a worrying mood. I had that sort of head on. Worry just kept floating in to bother me, or so it felt.
It wasn’t anything that justified the amount of worry I was giving it. So what did I do?
This… (give it a try).
I sat cross legged on my sofa with my back straight and supported and closed my eyes.
I committed to worrying for the next 5 minutes.
Actually as I stopped and tried to worry no worries would come. Still I sat for the 5 minutes.
My mind looked amazingly empty.
Phew. What a relief. I found some head space.
When we try to resist a thought it can often become more persistent. If we do the opposite then it often disappears.
Even if the worry comes back again you can just do the same.
Having some Mindful tricks up your sleeve is one of the best ways to work with your thoughts. Try it out, what do you have to loose?
