The last few days I have been thinking about being more purposeful. I have had my mind on getting things done well.
Often I blog about chilling out and taking things a bit slower but strangely I haven’t found a contradiction here.
Really what I have been doing is having my mind on the job rather than elsewhere – simple really – and totally mindful – and the results have been AMAZING!
I have been applying this in many different ways. Here are a couple…
So when I have been working I have really been working. I have left my phone and personal laptop alone and I have been getting as much done as possible. The difference has just been that I have conciously given my concentration level a boost. I have made regular breaks from the screen an important part of this – but as a result of my increased focus and commitment I have been so PRODUCTIVE!
And then today Martyn and I took Noah to Bradgate Park to ride his bike, and the perfect situation for some unexpected exercise came up! He whizzed off on his bike along the path and we had to walk as fast as we could just to keep him in sight. Again it kept me totally focussed and we did over 2 miles at high speed – I felt AMAZING!
So what ever you are doing it works miracles if you can put all of your focus and commitment into it. You will be amazed at how much more you get out of the same activity and how often the opportunity presents itself.
