Today I read a Facebook post which said “A Goal Without A Plan Is Just Wishful Thinking”. Having just delivered a Resilience session which was all about setting plans this really struck a chord with me.
In the session we set 2 plans. One was something to give up and one was something to do more often
My plans were to say ‘no’ more often so that I don’t get too busy and also to spend more time away from my phone because it makes me more productive and happier.
I encouraged everyone to return to their desk after the session and to note down their plans on a post it note and then to keep it in sight.
We can all have general intentions such as to have more ‘me time’ and to say ‘no’ more often but unless we actually have a conscious intent to carry out our plan then it may never come to anything. We might carry on in our hectic lifestyle. We need to be Mindful to make it happen.
If you are serious about wanting to change things then make a plan. Mindfulness could be the perfect tool to help you to set your plans in action! When we are Mindful then are present in the moment and so we think clearly.
