Today we were walking back from the stables and I caught Noah looking longingly at the giant trampoline that we pass every day.
He would absolutely love a go on it but he is younger than the children who it belongs to and as yet he hasn’t been invited on. I know how much he wants a go but he copes with it so well. I call him and he keeps walking and he forgets all about it and gets on with life. Happy with what he does and the things that he has.
When we are children we seem to have the ability to do this. We have dreams but we still live in the present and enjoy everything we do to the full. At some point as we grow up we seem to loose this. Our minds develop the ability to worry about the past and plan the future whilst we operate on autopilot.
Mindfulness can help to reverse this process. With some well focussed mindfulness brain training you really can get your mind back in the here and now, enjoying what is going on. It means you won’t spend your days worrying about things that have already happened. your won’t waste time worrying about things that will never happen. You will have more head space to live your dreams!
Come on a Revitalise Day to learn more about mindfulness and meditation. The days are held in a beautiful farmhouse and they provide the perfect opportunity to get to know your mind.
