Yesterday evening Martyn and I went to the evening celebration of Sarah and Matt’s wedding. Sarah and I have been friends for years and it was so lovely to be invited and to see all the family having a brilliant time. It was a great party. Everyone was dancing to 90s classics and there was a really fun vibe.
Sarah looked stunning and her and Matt really looked the happy couple. Made for each other! It was great for us to get together as a group of friend and we chatted and danced the night away.
It was great to have an excuse to get dressed up and really chill out.
My sister had Noah for us so it gave Martyn and I a chance to spend some time alone too, which is always great for us. Whenever we go to a wedding it aways makes me feel close to Martyn again. It reminds me how happy the time was around our wedding.
Sometimes everyday life can get in the way of us recognising how much we appreciate our partners. We get caught up in domestic jobs and forget about the things that brought us together. If we start thinking negative thoughts about our partners it can be really hard to snap out of it.
If you are missing that spark in your relationship try this…
1) Find some time just for the two of you. Ideally sit and share a meal together but if this isn’t possible then you can even use just a few minutes in bed before you go to sleep.
2) Take a couple of minutes to mentally list 5 things that you love about your partner.
3) Take turns to tell each other the things that you love about the other.
It doesn’t matter how small the things are, they can be anything. It really is amazing how a bit of appreciation can get us thinking positively and enjoying each other all over again. Hearing your partner say that they still fancy you never looses it’s impact.
