This evening Martyn, Noah and I went out to our local pizza restaurant at tea time.
Whilst Noah was waiting, for his steaming hot, soya cheese margarita to cool, he went to try out the scales. He was delighted to see the indicator on the scales move back and forth as he moved on and off the platform.
By the time he came back his pizza had cooled down and he took his time eating a huge amount.
As we grow up many of us seem to forget that child like instinct to be interested in things, and to try new things out.
Rather than getting up and looking at things most adults in the restaurant, who were waiting, were looking at their phones or lap tops. They were a million miles away from the reality of the room that they were in.
Next time you are waiting for something try being interested in your surroundings. By looking around you and taking in the world where you are fully you are Mindful, you really are present in the moment.
When we are present in the moment we cut out so much mental chatter, this means it gives us a mental break of sorts.
Having an interest in what is happening right now means there is no way that we can also be worrying about things that have already happened or be lost in thought about the future.
Being in the moment makes us happy! So commit to being present more often.
