This afternoon I went to Noah’s school nativity.
Parking is always a nightmare around the school and so I decided to walk. Using the path across the fields it is only just over a mile, and the weather was SO beautiful so it seemed like the ideal thing to do.
As soon as I set off I knew I’d done the right thing. After a hectic morning in town it was just what I needed to slow everything down. I felt a spring in my step and I smiled to myself as I went on my way.
After just a few minutes of walking alone I was back to myself, back to being calm and totally ready to enjoy the school production to the full. Rather than my mind drifting I was totally present for the whole experience. I LOVED it.
If you feel that you need to ground yourself during your day then taking the opportunity to fit a walk in could be a great Mindful moment. Alongside giving you some time it can also cut out complications associated with alternative transport.
