Every time I coach Meditation I love helping people find clarity in their mind.
Today I ran a session and at the end someone told me that when they sat and closed their eyes for the first time it hurt because their mind was SO busy.
Believe it or not this is not unusual. In todays world our minds really do work on overdrive. We rarely stop to give them a break.
So my top tip?
To be KIND to yourself.
It is easy to expect too much when we try to stop and relax. Be realistic. If you haven’t sat to Meditate ever, or for a while, then it will take some time for your thoughts to
S L O W D O W N.
Just accepting that this is a gradual process changes everything. Rather than expecting instant results, enjoy the experience of just stopping and having the time to be interested in what goes on in your mind.
For productive people the time this takes can be frustrating. To motivate you to keep on with Meditation, know that the more you do it the more easily your body and mind will calm down.
Once you get the hang of it you will be better equipped for a more productive and more enjoyable daily life.
