If you read my blog often, or you read about mindfulness generally, then you will be constantly hearing about being present. To start with this might not mean much to you! You might think that as long as you are there then of course you are present!
If you don’t quite get that feeling of being totally present in the moment yet then try this as an easy first step on your way there. Experiencing it is much better than just reading about it.
The place I find it easiest to connect to the here and now is in bed.
As you lie in bed tonight get comfortable on your back with your arms and legs spread to the side, palms up.
Appreciate the fact that your body is being held up by the bed and that you don’t have to make any effort at all.
Let go, totally relax, safe in the knowledge that you won’t fall.
Appreciate the warmth of the covers over you.
Appreciate the softness of your pillow under your head.
Just enjoy lying as you are.
Become aware of the rising and falling sensation of your body as you breathe.
Enjoy the stillness.
Enjoy that there is nowhere else to be.
Your mind is totally with your body.
This is real mindfulness.
If you like this taste and want to experience more then get in touch and book onto a Revitalise Day. Imagine feeling this good more of the time!
