Today I took Noah and his cousin ice skating. In them I witnesses pure Mindfulness…and happiness.
They loved what they were doing and they stayed totally focussed. If at any point their attention slipped then they fell. But they always picked themselves up, refocussed and started again.
It reminded me so much of Meditation. It really doesn’t matter how many times your mind wanders – all you do is refocus and carry on.
Each slip they made reminded them of what they needed to do. It never put them off – they just did it again and again.
If you find it difficult to stick with your practise when you have a busy mind then taking the pressure off may help.
Don’t beat yourself up when your mind wanders – remember this is completely normal. The more often you refocus the more you will strengthen your attention muscle.
