Last weekend I took a friend’s children for a ride and they loved it.
They were all really brave and so keen to have a go. That is the really great thing about kids. They just get on and do things without worrying.
It was really lovely to help Andy out with taking the kids to do something they wanted to do. They were visiting him in the holidays and it was a real treat to them. It only took an hour out of my Sunday morning and it gave me such a feeling or warmth to be able to do this for a friend.
When we take the time to give to others it often works out so well for us too. We are left happier because we feel good about our actions. Giving some of our time to help others can be a great way to take some of our attention from our own worries and anxieties.
Sharing what we have can really make us appreciate how lucky we are all over again. Not everyone has a pony and if you can be generous and let others enjoy yours I think it’s a great thing to do.
So try it today. You don’t need a pony! It doesn’t need to be anything big but just try doing something for someone. It might be holding a door open. It might be making a cuppa for a colleague. Have a go and see how it makes you feel.
