Last Saturday I took my lovely niece out for the afternoon. As a Birthday treat I took her to have her nails painted. Then we went and did a bit of shopping, she bought a magazine and we had a coffee together.
We had the best time together. And then we went home and enjoyed being with the rest of the family too.
It got me thinking about how spending quality time with those we who love can be really important.
So often when my niece and I are together, my sister and/or my little boy Noah are also with us. We all absolutely love each other but with the children there can be an element of competitiveness and jealousy when we are all together.
So to have one on one time makes all the difference. We can focus on each other completely and enjoy some time just for our relationship. It doesn’t need to be long to make the difference. Just feeling valued and appreciated for a period is enough of a treat to make everyone happy!
Having the presence of Mind to make time can be tricky but taking the opportunity more often is a great way to be more aware of the very real benefits of investing in our relationships.
Mindfulness is a great tool to help with prioritising those things that are most important to us. If you would like to get started with some Mindfulness training then get in touch and book onto a Revitalise Session.
