This morning I sat and practised the piano for about an hour.
We only got the piano a few weeks ago but I am absolutely LOVING it. I am revisiting the music I was playing in the early 1990s when I used to have lessons.
I’m not very good at the piano, it takes me a while to get through a piece and I often make mistakes. Nevertheless I love playing.
When I got to the end of an hours practise this morning I could fell how exhausted my brain was. I had been focussing completely on my playing and it had tried me out!
So at the end of my session I gave my mind a break, I sat just for a couple of minutes and let my mind do whatever it wanted. It was amazingly still, ready just to rest.
