Christmas get togethers are great and it is really lovely to have an excuse to socialise and relax…and nibble.
We all have a weakness where food is concerned, whether it is cheese or puddings! Parties can mean a whole lot of over eating. For many that can mean guilt, regret, worry and weight gain.
Mindfulness can help! When you make choices you are content with you will be left feeling happier. Here are some top tips…
Start your day well. Each day is a blank canvas. Enjoy the opportunity to have another go. Don’t beat yourself up about yesterday. Focus on the opportunity to make good choices in the here and now.
Think about nutrition rather than calorie counting. Think about what will do your body good rather than trying to add up numbers. You will feel so pleased if you eat nutritious food.
Imagine that your stomach is the size of an orange rather than the size of a melon. Just by keeping this image in your mind you will stop yourself overeating.
Take on plenty of water before you eat. So many of us mistake thirst for hunger, especially if we are drinking caffeine or alcohol. Try a glass of water and wait a few minutes before you tuck in.
Plate your food up so that you can judge how much you have eaten. Endless picking is a sure way to overindulge.
Never think that it is too later to try. Remember you can start any of this at any point in the day and you will still feel better.
Come on a New Year Revitalise Day where you will learn the mindfulness skills that will set you up to make better decisions for life!
