Last week I blogged about the pain I was experiencing in my shoulders. Last night it was quite extreme.
I was working at my desk and the pain kept pulling my attention away from my work.
Then I decided that I needed to do something to try to help. So I got on my yoga mat and did some downward dogs to stretch my back out. Then some Cat Cow moves to add some flexibility and to release tension.
I felt SO much better.
I then really appreciated how good I felt.
I realised then that I had totally turned things around. Rather than my pain holding me back I used it as inspiration to do more. The pain served as that much needed reminder to look after myself.
Mindfulness is remembering to come back to the moment. If pain can do this for you then there has to be a positive in there somewhere!
