Last night I watched a programme all about products on the market that consumer may be purchasing for Christmas. One of the features was about wireless headphones.
They did some blind testing on the programme and a group of professional musicians had to see which set of earphones they thought performed best.
Surprisingly the least expensive headphones came out the best. The very expensive pair didn’t impress at all.
The experiment was interesting because the testers gave a totally honest opinion and they were unswayed by the brand name.
It got me thinking about how caught up we get on getting the best of everything. If we spend more on a product we tend to believe it is better. This is not always the case.
Our minds are full of beliefs that are engrained. If we carry on with these beliefs without challenging them every now and then we can become very narrow minded.
It is really good to challenge our perceptions from time to time and to see that on occasion we can misjudge products or situations. If we can open our minds to alternatives then we have a lot more choice.
Brain training techniques can help us to open our minds and be aware of all of the options that are open to us.
If you think you could do with being more open to new ideas then why not try a Revitalise Session. Some times a new approach is just what you need to make make things seem a little lighter.
