Today the weather has been amazing again in Cornwall. We spent this afternoon on the beach, playing in the sea, building sandcastles and generally having fun.
Despite the sun being out the wind was quite strong and so after a while we retreated to a sheltered spot in the pub garden.
Noah was absolutely delighted to discover a slide and lots of children who were about his age. After a few goes on the slide a lovely girl called Molly invited Noah to go down the slide at the same time as her. “Put your hands on my shoulders’ she told him.
He did, and then time and time again they whizzed down the slide together. They were grinning so much and clearly loved each other’s company. When Molly left she asked Noah if he would be back tomorrow. He looked at me to check and then cheerfully told her that he would be.
It got me thinking about how easily we form relationships when we are young. We are so focussed on enjoying ourselves and having fun and when others see this they notice and then they really want to play with us.
As we get older we worry more about how we look and about what others think of us. This really limits our fun and also the friendships we make.
If you have started to worry about the way other people see you then Mindfulness could be just the fix. Come on a Revitalise Session to see how an improved focus on the moment could make life more fun again.
