Yesterday I was asked to talk about teaching Mindfulness in schools on the local radio.
The discussion centred around a new report that was out which revealed that a high number of teenagers were having negative thoughts.
One of the first things I like to explain to everyone who wants to learn more about mindfulness is that we are all bombarded by thoughts most of the time.
Also, that as human beings we have a negative bias. We are more likely to have negative rather than positive thoughts.
The great news is that Meditation can help to slow thoughts down and to encourage a more positive outlook.
At the beginning of a session I always start with 2 minutes silence, just so people get a glimpse of how their mind is before they start to work with it. At the end I do the same so that they can see how their thoughts settle when they sit to meditate.
So if you worry that you worry too much or you think that you think too much Mindfulness could be just what you need. Don’t be put off by a hectic mind or a negative mind, be inspired to see what you can do!
A one off session could set you up with the tools to tame your mind! Get in touch.
