With Valentines day approaching there seem to be so many articles coming our way about better relationships. This morning I was reading an article about how you and your partner can enjoy being more intimate more often.
We can all slip into the habit of checking our emails, being on line and living in another world, when perhaps the person we care most about is at home, really close to us physically but not engaged with us at all.
What we all really need is to be mindful, to switch off all distractions and to pay attention to our partner. This can be difficult because for many of us it is something that we just never do. We become slaves to our devices and everything else comes second.
New research has shown that playing music in the home is a great way to improve your intimacy. It improves your mood and makes you more likely to enjoy your time together.
It strikes me that this is another way to help you to be more mindful. By playing music you are more aware of the here and now, more caught up in the moment rather than off elsewhere with your thoughts!
So if you want to try making a move on your loved one you could try hitting play on the stereo first. As an alternative you could learn to me more mindful.
By learning some simple meditation techniques you could alter your relationship, not just with your partner, but with the world. When you are more present in the moment everything seems more vibrant, more pleasurable, and more intense.
