This morning I took my old horse Dexter for a ride. He is 26 and over the last couple of years has started to struggle with a shoulder that causes him some pain.
However the spring grass seems to have done wonders for him. He is looking great.
When we went out I did have to be super patient. For the first half a mile he needed to take it slowly to wake up and allow himself to get going.
Luckily I had just done my morning Meditation so I was feeling kind and compassionate. Rather than pushing him on I just put myself in his shoes and let him take the time he needed.
By the end of the ride he was on top form – he even had a spring in his step.
All sorts of things can require our patience during the day. By starting the day with a Meditation you can make sure you are ready to call on your reserves when you (or your horse) need it most.
