Today on my lunch break I went out with my mum to a cafe that is a couple of miles up the road in Thrussington.
I was just intending to have a coffee but when I looked at the menu to my amazement there was a salad that looked like it would be OK on my diet. I checked before I ordered and the tuna was in brine and I couldn’t see any other reason that I couldn’t go for it…so I did.
It was delicious. On my diet I very rarely eat out because restaurants and cafe’s find it too difficult not to use fat on everything that they serve. Today was a massive treat! The waitress/cook and shop owner were lovely too which made the visit even better.
I was so happy with the experience and in true mindfulness style I labelled it! ‘Joy’. As I said that word to myself it brought a smile to my face all over again. I really did enjoy that emotion to the full.
When you are out and about try labelling your emotions. When lovely things happen labelling them in this way ensures that you appreciate the emotion to the full rather than it passing you by without much notice. It also helps you to realise that nice positive emotions do crop up in every day life, perhaps more often than you think!
Come on a Revitalise Day for a lovely experience where you will relax and have time to notice all of the emotions that come your way. Learning to be mindful really can make you a happier person.
