Every morning I go up to the stables to do the horses. I usually exercise them, feed them and clear up all of the droppings. I get up earlier than Martyn and Noah to fit it all in.
I have to be back home by 8am so that Martyn can set off for work and so I can sort Noah out for his day. This morning I had been rushing through all my jobs and I realised I was on automatic. It was 20 to 8 so I decided to take 10 minutes to bring myself back to the moment.
I went and sat at the back of the stables on a make shift seat and did a short meditation. I sat upright and focused on my breathing. I did a mental scan down through my body to check for any areas of discomfort and to reconnect my body and mind. I felt my whole body relax with each out breath. A little more focus on the breath and then my timer went off.
I opened my eyes to the sun rise. It was such an amazing feeling. When you sit to meditate for any period of time notice how clear and focused your vision is afterwards. For me this morning it was a lovely moment. The sun was shining and the colours around me were so vivid. It really was a moment not to be missed.
Remember you really can meditate anywhere. Sometimes the opportunity arises and when it does take advantage. My morning was so much improved by this bit of head space.
Come on a Revitalise day to inspire yourself to manage more mindful moments. They don’t need to be long sessions, the key is to recognise when you can fit a short session in. Lots of short sessions really will enhance your life.
