No one likes to admit that they are greedy but I think we all have this tendency with some sort of food.
Overeating is a sure fire way to increase the negative mental chatter going on in your mind.
Thoughts of looking fat, feeling fat, feeling guilty, feeling unattractive all pop up and make life less pleasant.
The best way to avoid those thoughts and feelings is to avoid overeating and to make good food choices.
Try this meditation very day for a week and see how your brain adjusts to accepting smaller portion sizes, you will be amazed!
Set a timer for 5 minutes (pre dinner would be a great time)
Sit up straight.
Become aware of the rising and falling sensation of your breath.
How the whole of your body in your attention.
Then zoom in on your stomach area.
Visualise your stomach as being the size of an orange.
Stay focused on your stomach, picture you orange sized stomach and feel the warmth of your attention.
Each time your mind wanders bring it back to the stomach.
Then zoom out again and hold the whole of your body in your attention.
Then zoom back in to the stomach.
After a few repeats let the focus go and let your mind have a minute or so to simply do what it wants to do.
Slowly come back to the here and now as the timer goes off.
