This weekend I had what felt like a selfish amount of ‘me’ time.
Having been for a health club session with my friend on Friday night I then had the luxury of a day out at the Barefoot festival with another friend, and then a repeat visit to the health club on Sunday morning. Amazing.
My husband Martyn was lovey about it and he and our 4 year old Noah seemed to also have a good time together.
Martyn has been away for a couple of weeks so from a practical point of view he owed me some childcare time. From an emotional point of view I love to spend every minute I can with Noah, so there was quite a pull on my conscience!
I felt amazing after all of the time I spend looking after myself. I swam, went in the sauna and hot tub, Meditated, did Yoga and totally enjoyed myself. Because of this I came home happier and calmer.
When I settled down last night to read Noah a story I engaged fully with him and enjoyed every single minute. It really is true, the more you look after yourself the more able you are to look after others.
Each time you sit to Meditate keep this in mind. There is nothing selfish about taking some time to yourself. Those around you really will benefit. With Mindfulness you can learn to enjoy every moment you take for yourself, and then every moment you give back to others.
Come on a Revitalise Session to set aside some time for you and to make real your intention to be more Mindful.
