This morning I ran a Mindfulness Workshop for a group of 18 year old girls.
I kind of knew I needed to win them over at the start of the session. They listened from the beginning when I told them that that I came to meditation when I suddenly lost my vision due to MS.
I told them that I was a lawyer. I told that I ran Marathons. I told them that at first Meditation was an alien concept to me. I told them that now I do it every day.
And that now I think it is the best life tool EVER!
I then showed the girls how to use the breath to relax the body.
By the end of the session I am fairly confident they had realised that their minds were hectic.
By the end most of the girls had shown signs of relaxing their bodies, some were even nodding off… AMAZING!
I just love spreading the word that Mindfulness and Meditation is a great tool and a totally non weird thing to do. It is such a good way to become more productive and more relaxed. A great way to get some headspace.
By the end of the session everyone was equipped to chill out with a quick body scan when ever they need it. They also all understood that they could train their brains to focus and to be less distracted.
