Mindfulness is a really good way to bring balance to your life. It allows you to build a greater awareness of the world that surrounds you as well as your own internal well being.
For me focussing on how I am, in my internal world, was really prompted by my diagnosis with MS. At first I found it difficult to listen to my body and my mind. Over time I have become better and better at checking in with myself to make sure I am on track to good well being.
Focussing on the world around us is also really important. It is something that most of us forget to do. We get too busy to pay enough attention to everything else that is going on and we get consumed by our own little world.
Learning and remembering to take note of the outside world is important because it really puts everything into perspective. If you start to realise that you are only a very small part in a really big jigsaw it really helps to make life seem a little lighter.
