I absolutely love going away with my Mum and Noah and we have been doing little trips away since he was born. We have been youth hosteling all over, we have visited my sister in Australia, and this time we are in a cottage in Cornwall.
We have such a lovely time together. Noah thrives on having so much love and attention from us both.
The only problem is that when we all share a bedroom there is not an awful lot of time or space for a quiet, uninterrupted meditation session.
I am very committed to fitting my meditation in. I know so well that fitting even a short session in every day helps so much in terms of reducing anxiety and making me enjoy everything I do more.
So when we are away I simply do what I can. If there are 5 minutes whilst Noah is doing a jig saw and Mum is doing the cross word then I take it. If I wake earlier than them I do a body scan whilst I have some peace.
Getting stressed about fitting your meditation in is about the worst thing you can do. Fitting it in when you get 5 minutes is the best. It might not be perfect but any session is better than not even trying.
The great thing about meditation is that you don’t need anything with you. All you need is yourself and your breath and you are set up for a super session.
Come on a Revitalise Day to equip yourself with the tools to meditate where ever you are and what ever is happening around you. The day will fill you with inspiration for a more mindful way of life.
