Yesterday I ran a session for a group of year 10 and 11 girls at a local school. They are coming up to a busy exam period and were keen to learn some techniques to help them with this challenging time.
Mindfulness is amazing for exam preparation and performance – here’s why…
1) Mindfulness meditation is a way to give your body and mind some time off. When you are sitting revising for hours on end the benefit of a 5 minute meditation every hour or so is unbelievable. Totally refreshing and really beneficial. When you go back to the books you will feel ready to start again.
2) Meditation based on brain training allows you to increase the gray matter in your brain. This allows you to make your brain more powerful and more efficient so you can think more clearly and remember things with ease!
3) Training your brain with mindfulness meditation allows you to improve your focus and concentration skills. Just what you need when you are feeling anxious and facing a challenging exam paper or a whole load of revision!
