So today I hit the 34 mark.
I think Birthdays are a great time to have a bit of a reassessment – to think about how things are going and how we want things to go from now on.
So this year as mine has approached I have been thinking about where I want to go.
Generally everything is great. The one thing that I know would make my life better is if I could be a little more balanced in everything I do.
I have an addictive trait in my personality. I love something (I love lots of things) and then typically I overdo it. It happens with food, work, coffee, red wine, exercise, even Meditation! Everything.
It isn’t usually too big an issue but just sometimes a bit difficult…
There are some traps I repeatedly fall into…every year at about this time I upset my digestive system through an obsession with the berries that are growing in the garden. Then I have to lay off them altogether. Sure enough I have just fallen foul of this…again! An annual mistake! I am now on a berry fast.
I recently learned to love coffee after having read of health benefits for MS. Then one day I had 2 large cups in Carluccios and felt really quite dazed as Noah and I were in the middle of town! I don’t have any other caffeine so it was a massive hit – TOO MUCH! And sure enough I have done this a few times.
So my intention this year is to find more balance in everything I do. MODERATION is going to be my middle name. Alex Moderation Blossom.
So my first challenge of the new year will be not to overdo the coffee from my brand new coffee machine!
Taking some time to think through your intention in life is a great way to make life better and to feel more motivated, engaged and satisfied with yourself.
If you can take the time to jot down your thoughts then this will help you to apply yourself to the issue a little more Mindfully. Give it a try today, don’t wait for your Birthday.
On a Revitalise Session I love to include an Intention at the outset of the session. This is a really Mindful way to make sure you get the most out of it.
Focus is everything – Mindfulness is a great way to get there.
