This afternoon Noah went to a Gruffalo Party to celebrate his friend Anya’s birthday. It was really lovely. The children went on a hunt for the Gruffalo through the woods and played games as they went. Despite the weather being absolutely freezing they enjoyed it till the end.
Of course it was mother’s day so I took Noah and enjoyed every minute of watching his excitement as the adventure unfolded.
It really struck me how much enjoyment can take over. We were in a big group as we went on the Gruffalo hunt. The children ran together and the adults chatted, encouraged and took photos.
We were out for about 2 hours and had it not been for the amazing time that we were having there would have been no way I could have coped with walking so slowly in the cold.
As it was the children didn’t moan and the adults happily pottered behind as we made our way round. For me the good company and the entertainment made all the difference.
So often our state of mind impacts on how we react to certain situations. If you feel positive and happy then almost any conditions are ok. If you feel fed up then less than perfect conditions can become a real problem.
Mindfulness allows us to get to know how our mind’s work. Once you start to realise that you can work with your thoughts then the ability to think in a more positive manner becomes possible. This can help in all sorts of situations.
If you would like to start to train your brain then come on a Revitalise Day. You will be warm and comfortable as you learn to relax and work with your thoughts. The day will be a real treat and you will leave on a high, determined to live more mindfully!
