We got home last night having had an amazing 3 week holiday in Vietnam. From the moment we had our very first mango juice we had a brilliant time.
Being away gave me a real chance to reflect on our life at home. Whilst we were in Vietnam we met a friend of mine who is thinking about moving from Australia, where she lives with her husband and son, back to Europe where her family are from.
When she was telling me about the decision they were making it made me question whether we lacked adventure in our life. We live in the same village that I grew up in and we never consider moving. It made me question whether we were mindlessly continuing in a life that had evolved, rather than making choices which might be better or more exciting?
I discussed this with my husband, Martyn, as we were driving back from the airport and thankfully we both felt the same. We LOVE our life. We choose to carry on as we are!
We were excited to return home and to see our friends and family. Waking up at home this morning was a lovely feeling and having been away for a few weeks simply makes us appreciate what we have even more.
Taking some time out to reflect on your life is a really good thing to do. Being on holiday is great, but when you love your return to real life, you know things are good!
Appreciating your life is so important to happiness. Try writing a list of the things you love about home. If it makes you happy then great. If it doesn’t then think about some changes.
