Mindfulness is not all about sitting to Meditate. Making it part of you everyday life means that you get the full benefit.
Mindful eating can mean lots of different things. From eating slowly and paying attention to your food, to fully appreciating your food and being grateful for it, there are many different aspects.
For me Mindfulness has helped me to be consistent in making good food choices.
Yesterday I was working and wanted a snack. I looked in the fridge and put together a bowl of tasty vegetables and then made a dip from tomatoes and tahini It only took 5 minutes and it really was delicious.
When I make a good food choice and then find it really delicious it spurs me to to stick with it. If I take the time to notice how much I enjoy it I remember to have the same things again soon.
I often find that simple food is the most delicious. This is great because it means you don’t have to waste time preparing it- get on and enjoy it raw and this way you get the most nutrients too.
So being Mindful with your diet doesn’t even mean everything has to be slow. It can be speedy and delicious and can leave you feeling great.
