This morning checked my emails… The first thing I saw was a warning that one food I may be eating causes cancer.
I could have been thrown into turmoil, but for one thing…I had just finished my Meditation so I was thinking straight!
I scanned down the email and then deleted. It was trying to sell me a healthy food guide.
I reminded myself that I eat lots of healthy food and stayed calm. I thought of my broccoli consumption – a good chunk a day!
This week the media has been full of food scares. I saw in the paper the other day a warning about roast potatoes and also about baby food. There is such a media hype surrounding food choices at the moment – perhaps more than ever.
If we get caught up on everything we read then the world can seem like such a scary place. Mindfulness can really help to develop a healthy approach to the news. A morning Meditation can give us that calm level headed approach to everything.
If you have a tendency to get swept away in panic when you read your emails then stay calm, take a few deep breaths and just wait a while before you decide to click on the link.
Taking a more Mindful approach to the media can make life seem so much calmer.
