This morning I delivered a mini session of Mindfulness to a group of Mums to be.
We met in a local cafe and had a coffee and then went into the play room for a short session. I targetted the session so that it was a very practical exercise that even busy mums could find time to fit into their every day life.
It was all about being aware of the present moment.
From the second I arrived I knew it was the right exercise. As we met people were discussing the hurry they had been in to get to the venue and the worries that they had about being late. They were crying out for an exercise to help them be present in the moment.
We sat and chilled out for 2 minutes and this in itself changed the feeling in the room. It was so much more calm. Then in the peace we did an exercise where we simply noticed what was happening in each moment that we became aware of. We then looked for the next thing which could be a thought, feeling or any other distraction.
At the end of the exercise we gave our minds some time off. If they wanted to think then they could. Lots of the ladies said that they experienced a really clear mind in that period of time. No thoughts at all. Perfect!
