A couple of years ago we went on a holiday to the lake district with my brother and sister in law. I saw this picture in a shop and loved it and before I knew it they had bought it as birthday present for me. Never mind the fact that it was months away!
We have it on the wall just before the stairs in our house. Every time I go up it catches my eye and reminds me of Philip and Gill. Now and then I take a moment just to stand and look at it. When I do this I love it even more.
So often in life we fly about doing jobs and hurrying on to the next thing on our mental list. Acting in a rush really is a habit. Can you remember the last time you stopped and really looked at something that has been in your house for a while? Most of us start to take our possessions for granted.
Taking a moment to pause and appreciate the things that you have around you is such a good habit to get into. When you stop and look and pay attention you mental chatter grinds to a halt giving you some much needed head space. Making a few mindful moments in you day can take the hectic nature out of your life and can make everything seem a little easier.
If you think you haven’t got time for these moments of appreciation then you need to do it more than any one. We all say we are too busy but actually if we take a little time for ourselves we get so much more done.
Come on a Revitalise day to see how amazing it is to learn to take some time for yourself. You will leave with a new commitment to being mindful and as result you will become so much more productive.
