Tonight I got a message from my good friend Hannah. She had been thinking about me because she was preparing a salad that would suit my diet perfectly!
It was really lovely that she was thinking of me and even better that she sent me a message to tell me. She knows exactly how strict my diet is and so any inspiration she can give me to make it more interesting is worth so much.
The banana cake that I was eating was equally amazing and it was great to be able to tell her about that. Noah and I have become quite good at making cakes from fruit and buckwheat flour. So there is nothing unhealthy about our cakes and topped with almond butter they really were a taste sensation too!
Taking a moment to tell someone, who you know will care, about your great food choices is a really good thing to do. The act of sending the message means that you have paused and spent some time appreciating the food that you have had. Appreciating everything we eat is a great way to maintain a healthy diet. When we eat without noticing our food we start to get into difficulties controlling our intake. Awareness is everything.
The other great benefit of receiving a message about your diet is the sense of support and encouragement it gives. Knowing that someone else is thinking about their diet can be great motivation. It really helps to keep you dedicated and focussed on your choices.
Come on a Revitalise Day to get more healthy food inspiration. The food that we serve on the day retreat is all lovely, fresh and seasonal. Applying mindfulness to your eating habits can be a massive step forward in terms of great weight management and good nutrition.
