This morning I was heading out for a bike ride and my Dad said he’d like to come too. So we set off with a coffee stop in our minds.
We were out for a few hours, we went where we fancied, at points we ended up carrying our bikes because it was so wet and muddy.
We took it steady and talked as we rode.
The sun was shining and it seemed there was no HURRY.
I think that is what made it SO PERFECT. The fact that there was no hurry.
Had I been on my own I would have gone faster, rode harder and have been more exhausted when I got home. I probably wouldn’t have stopped for a coffee or noticed half the sights that we took in.
So today Dad was my perfect Mindfulness tool. He helped me to slow down and enjoy life more.
Mindfulness is all about getting to know your Mind. Part of living a Mindful life is learning what helps you to be Mindful.
So if there is someone you enjoy spending time with and someone who helps you to slow down and enjoy the moment then try spending more time with them. It could make all the difference.
