Meditation and Yoga are both firm favourites for me. They both do me so much good. They do amazing things for my mind and my body.
I have lots of friends who do one or the other and it got me thinking, if I had to pick one which would it be?
Well, hopefully the situation will never arise where I have to pick! For as long as I can I shall do both.
But if events in life should mean that I am left with Meditation only I would feel that was the right outcome.
I LOVE Yoga.
It makes me feel strong, powerful and yet grounded in the moment. I enjoy making my body physically tired and then enjoying the recovery. I love knowing that I am getting physical benefits from the practise.
But the thing with yoga is that I compare myself. I am competitive. Sometimes when I walk into my yoga class I decide that I am going to take it easy but then once I get started I can not resist pushing myself. I never let myself take the easy option!
I really really LOVE Meditation.
When I sit to Meditate I am truly in my own world. There is no one to compete with, it is not possible to compare. I am a busy type of person and when I Meditate this is the time where I always give my body a complete rest. I can fit a Meditation into almost any spare moment and in doing so get a huge benefit from doing nothing.
So if you need to find better ways to relax then trying out Meditation could be a great new world and one that is made just for you. Meditation is so personal that if you chose you can keep your new habit all to yourself. If you decide to share with others then it is a world of intrigue and excitement waiting to be discovered.
