This morning I took my mums dog with me on my run. She was desperate for some activity so it seemed to be a good plan.
We had a lovely time and she behaved amazingly until…she ran off!
There is a particular field that she just loves to explore. Once she saw this field she was off. She forgot all about me, she was totally focused on her running and sniffing.
She disappeared for AGES! Luckily we were not near any roads so I wasn’t too worried about her safety but I did wonder how I would ever get her back!
So rather than shouting my head off without much chance of it working, guess what I did?
A quick meditation!
I stood by the gate to the field and focused on my breath! I felt my body rise and fall as I stood still.
This had the benefit of keeping me calm and allowing me to think clearly. It also allowed me to listen to noises which gave me a better indication of where she was.
After a few minutes I called my mum and asked her advice. She told me to walk towards home and she would come after me. Sure enough she did.
Total proof that you can meditate anywhere and that it brings calm and clarity to any situation!
