Today when I sat to Meditate I fell fast asleep!
I think the heat of the day had something to do with it. And maybe the fact that I had been awake in the night because it was hot.
Luckily I woke up feeling AMAZING. Totally refreshed.
So I didn’t worry about the fact I’d fallen asleep – I really enjoyed it. But obviously if you are trying to get into a meditation routine you get far more benefit from staying awake!
So here are some top tips for staying awake in Meditation.
1) Your position makes a huge difference. Sit up and make sure your head is an extension of your spine. This will help to stop you slumping and sleeping!
2) Do it early in the day so that you are not worn out. Before lunch if you can.
3) Each time you feel your head nodding imagine there is big light bulb above your head – sending you energy. Sounds strange but it works!
