This morning I went with my lovely Mum and our friend Sarah to Starbucks. We did a bit of shopping first and by the time we sat down we were all ready for a coffee.
We were talking about the difference it makes going out for a coffee rather than having it at home.
When you make yourself a coffee at home it is all too easy to miss the experience. Because you are at home, jobs tend to call for your attention and you are likely to swallow your drink without paying much attention.
When you go out for a coffee you are so much more likely to pay attention to your drink. You are out of the house so the jobs at home are kept at a distance.
There is of course the chance that your phone will tear you away form the experience but you could always turn it off or leave it in your handbag!
In life there is always something to distract us and something trying to pull our attention away from the moment. Taking just a little more thought certainly helps.
