To get what we want in life we need to use our mind, it is the answer to everything we achieve. If we train our minds things can really take off for us, waiting for good luck can take a lot longer! When we meditate we learn to think clearly and focus. Rather than problems, we see opportunity. Rather than barriers we see the way forward. Rather than accepting what happens to us we choose how life continues.
In meditation we often use our imagination to visualise things. We picture things first and then they become a reality. For example we often picture ourselves relaxed and calm and by the end of the session we are relaxed and calm. This works in real life too, use your imagination. Where do you want to see yourself? What is your dream? First picture the plan, then make it the reality.
Think about what is important to you. Spending more time with your family? Losing weight? Getting fit? A promotion at work? Imagine it, how would it work, what would you change? What would you lose from your life? What would you gain? Once you have that clear in your mind and you are sure it is what you want then set about making it happen. Nothing is impossible it just needs a bit of mindful thinking.
Visualising the thing you want puts you in a position of power, the maker of your own destiny. If you don’t think about the direction your life is taking you in you are simply carried along by others, their demands, their wants, their lives. Make your life about you, what you want to do, where you want to be, the life you want to have.
