This morning I went for a run round our local cricket field. It was only short, just a couple of miles but it did me the world of good.
The sun was out, the ground was covered in a beautiful white frost and I felt amazing as I ran. I got back, showered and felt ready for anything!
It struck me how similar this is to meditation. Just a short period of doing something good for yourself really sets you up for the rest of the day.
I always start my day with a meditation, yes even before the run! No matter how much I have to get done I know that if I sit and allow myself just a little time at the beginning of my morning, I will benefit from it all day long!
One you fit a short meditation in early in the morning you will remember how much good it does you, you will feel the difference. The chances are this will inspire you to do a few more mini sessions during your day and then you really will feel amazing.
Letting your thoughts have some time just to settle on a regular basis means that you are so much more clear headed. Because of this life seems simple.
The exercise can be as simple as sitting upright and closing your eyes. After a couple of minutes the thoughts will slow all on their own.
If you fancy a bit more headspace book onto a Revitalise Session and see how you could be benefiting from some simple techniques.
