All sorts of things can make us mindful. My sister Hannah who lives in Australia loves the designer Orla Keily just as much as I do. So when Tesco’s in the UK brought out the limited edition Orla shopper the request came in over email for me to sort her out with one!
Of course knowing that they were limited edition really focussed my attention. I had to make sure I got a couple before they were all gone! So I got online and ordered two and they arrived as requested…phew!
It got me thinking about the issue of limited edition items as a marketing trick. It really is clever. It focusses your mind and makes you think about whether you want one, right here, right now. If you do then you get on with it, you become the dream customer!
This thought process works in everyday life too. If you get a rare opportunity to do something then you make a decision right there as to whether you want to or not. If there is no rush to decide then your attention wanders and this often mean you miss out. You snooze, you loose!
Mindfulness can teach you how to turn your attention on when it matters. Of course we don’t want to be on high alert for all of our waking hours. But when you do want to concentrate and focus then having the skills and the the ability to switch on and focus is great. It can make all the difference to your success in life.
Come on a Revitalise Day to get started with mindfulness and meditation. It could make all the difference to your enjoyment and achievement in life.
The day retreats are held in a beautiful farmhouse in the lovely Leicestershire village of Walton on the Wolds. You will be able to sit back, relax and enjoy a day of peace and enjoyment whilst learning some vital life skills.
