We all have ambitions. They can be big or small but sometimes they seem like a distant dream rather than a reality.
A great way to make your dream a reality is to get inspired by others. Every day we see examples of others doing things we would like to do. That is probably why we are so keen to do them. Rather than watching with envy, get mindful, and find a way to make it happen.
This morning I saw one of my neighbours, Sue, out for her run. I have seen her out in her running gear over the last few weeks. Her dream is to be fit and she is making it happen.
I told her how amazing I thought she was and that she seemed really dedicated. She responded that she didn’t go very far and she didn’t go very fast but she goes. Brilliant!
Going out for a run can seem like a huge personal battle. We all worry, to some extent, what others think of us and whether we will look silly. Sue had obviously thought her plan through carefully, she warms up by walking up the hill and then runs back down the other side and home on the flat. Often if we apply our minds to something we can make the task more manageable and more enjoyable.
Getting a friend involved can be another great motivator and a real confidence booster. Doing things together often works. We can motivate each other by agreeing to meet up for a session.
If doing something creative like drawing or painting is on your to do list then finding an ‘Art Pal’ could help no end. Creativity comes to an open mind and so having someone to throw ideas about with really can help.
So often in life things can seem impossible but if we just start slowly and with a realistic plan we can achieve great things.
