Fitting our Meditation into our daily routine is a huge challenge. Time really does fly and it is so easy to reach bedtime without having managed a meditation.
Over the festive period it can become even more challenging with family commitments. What we really need to remember is that when things are hectic the benefits to taking a few minutes to ourselves are far greater.
Just a short Meditation will settle your mind and give you a bit more headspace. This means you can be calm and caring rather than rushed and ratty!
If you can make just 2 minutes for yourself then try this…
1) Set the timer on your phone so that you can rest in the knowledge that you won’t be too long.
2) Close your eyes to help you to keep the focus on yourself.
3) Tune into your breathing by noticing the rising and falling sensation in your body.
4) Each time your mind wanders bring your attention back to the rising and falling of your breath.
Meditation at hectic times is often best kept simple. The last thing your mind needs is too much to do.
