Some times I really doubt myself. The time it shows itself most is when I have bought something new, often clothing.
I worry about it endlessly until I take it back. And then I feel this HUGE sense of relief. Phew. And it all stemmed from something I wanted in the first place. Mad, hey?
Yesterday however, I went shopping and bought a new top. I tried it on quickly and despite my sister saying she wasn’t sure about it, I was. I was so sure that I got home, ripped the label out and put it on straight away. And I felt good in it. I wore it again today.
When I go shopping I do it best on my own. If I trust myself then I get it right. When I go with someone else I get persuaded to do things and sometimes this means I get it wrong.
With clothes shopping there isn’t really a huge issue. I try not to buy things very often! But in life I am quite sure he same thing applies and often it matters more.
When I make my own decision about what I want to do I get it right. If I am persuaded to do something then often I regret it or worry about it.
So I need to do what I think is right more…
The best way to achieve this?
Well here are my plans to help me on this quest to make better decisions….
1) When I am with someone who asks me to do something I am going to say I will get back to them. This means I will have time to make the decision when I am alone and when I can trust myself to get it right.
2) If someone texts to ask me to do something I am going to make sure I am quiet and focussed before I reply so that I get it right.
3) If I don’t want to do something then I am going to say ‘No’ without worrying. I am going to be nice as I say it, and then stick with my decision.
So I’ll blog again with an update when I have carried it out a few times. I wold LOVE it if you let me know your experiences- give it a go!
