Two things have really got me thinking about food over the last 24 hours.
Both came from the Saturday papers.
The first was by Nadia who recommended putting a banana in the microwave to allow it to caramelise.
I mashed it with almond butter and crushed some rice cakes into it, a squirt of agarve syrup, and it was the best pudding ever!
The second was an article about a new restaurant in London.
The journalist had paid over £200 for lunch. The extravagance of this really hit me.
I thought about the starving people in the world and thought that spending so much money on a meal just seemed wrong. Imagine if the £200 went to charity instead.
I am SO GRATEFUL that I appreciate simple food. I don’t think there are many things that could beat the caramelised banana experience!
Reflecting on things we try and things we read is a great way to acknowledge our thoughts, feelings and emotions.
So often in life we are too busy to realise what is going on in our own head. Making the time to recognise our feelings helps us to create some head space and to remember what matters to us.
