This morning Noah and I went to see Anya, Cath and Mat in their new house. We had a lovely time.
Noah had been to an Easter egg hunt at church early this morning and he was delighted at the thought of giving his chocolate eggs to Anya.
He doesn’t eat chocolate because of our special MS prevention diet. He loved giving them away and wanted to recreate the Easter egg hunt for Anya.
All the fun was in the playing. They went round and round the garden hiding the eggs and then moving them and looking for them again and again. The eating of the chocolate really didn’t matter to Noah, he never even asked.
It got me thinking about how mindful Noah’s attitude is to food and to life in general. He never focusses on the things that he can’t eat, he always enjoys fully the things he can eat.
So many of us struggle to stick to diets as adults. When we rule something out we can become all consumed by the one thing we can’t have.
Mindfulness can help you to change your attention so that you can learn to focus on the things you can have and are consuming in the present rather than lusting after the things you know aren’t good for you.
This change in approach is so useful in life. It means that you view everything in a much more positive light. Come on a Revitalise Day to see how your perspective could give you a brighter and healthier view of everything.
