This week I did an online Resilience assessment at work. It asked me all sorts of questions about my job and how I feel about it, what I think of the management and how I see things going in the future.
I was delighted to come out of the assessment with a Very Resilient verdict! Considering that I took the test at about 3am whilst in the middle of an overnight shift I thought this was an amazing result.
It got me thinking about just how positive I feel almost all of the time. Of course things go wrong for me as they do for anyone else, I have disappointments, anxiety, upset and sadness. But overall I have a great life and I recognise this.
Mindfulness has helped me so much in reaching this happy state. It helps me to appreciate all of the good things in life and through consistent daily Meditation I feel I have really developed the ability to be more present in the moment more of the time.
When things do go wrong my brain training makes it much more easy to recognise the incident and let it pass. It doesn’t have to ruin the rest of my day.
